James, did you paint your ivory bits, or were they just in insanely good condition to begin with? I am looking at doing the same thing but my Ivory parts are wrinkled and dirt is stuck inside.
Also what on your doors did the trimmers retrim or paint? Thanks mate

Hi Mate, I have learned a thing or two for the future of my 32 -about the cellophane - looks fantastic - but - Is it fire or seriously heat proof -don't want to scare you - hopefully you can check its ignition temp or retardant rating somewhere. cheers michael

Hi Michael,
Yeh i did think about the possible heat problem when i decided to use the cellophane but i felt pretty confident that i should not run into any dramas. Although i realise there would be some heat in the display i dont think it would be an issue as the main light in there is a fluro and they dont generally get too hot.
Fair call though mate ! fingers crossed ill never have to use my new fire extinguisher.

Good to hear Cam !
Yeh i was amazed to see how bright the panels actually became after a good clean up using that orange hand cleaner stuff.
I did get a little bit carried away on the ivory bit you see when you open the driver's side door.... ummm its to the right of the steering wheel and its NOT leather, its plastic - hence my problem. So i lost a little bit of colour there but its not really obvious and you cant see it when the door is shut anyways !

hahah. I did EXACTLY the same thing! was so wrapped up in my awesome 'new' interior, I was scrubbing hard core. Was thinking about doing that panel black anyway, guess now I have to!

And about the cellophane, if that doesn't hold up, there are proper inserts you can buy at lighting shops called gels. sort of similar to cellophane but Its used in stage lighting. Bit more expensive but made to handle the heat of lights. and comes in a massive range of colours too.

Still cant get over what an awesome thread this is. Thanks James. Can't wait to do this in the holidays. I'm gonna crank that orange cleaning stuff first before I prime and paint, hopefully the black will lookk better. Mind you one of the reasons I'm painting is because my spruce is so dirty.
