Im looking at painting the wood grain panels.
What is the best way to prepare them and what it the best way to paint them.

What do i use so it does not peel off or smudge.

Just treat them as any other piece of already painted wood.
Sand them and sand them again until they are perfectly clean (no polish or anything shiny) then undercoat them twice then do what u wish.

if dont want to paint them you can also just cover them using simple contact .. .various colours avail.

Just an option.

Much easier to restore to factory standard later on too.

Guys, i was under the impression that the wood grain was in fact plastic and that sanding would likely leave you with a well colour of unpainted plastic (?)

Best option imo is TRack down some PV pack bits which are plain black.. Do what you want with them, You can either sell the Woodgrain ones or put them in if not happy with the painted ones... Would be a shame to paint over a nice set of wood ones.

I covered mine using the contact. Can hardly tell, and can peel it back to originals if I want. Which I don't think I ever will anyway.

I thinks it's only been about 6months since I've done it. But no, no bubbles as of yet and it's been stinking hot here lately.
