For the guys who have painted their centre consoles black, how did you keep the lettering on the volume and temp indicators...had a look at the pieces and they are solid plastic, can't take the white backing for the lettering off?

Thanks for letting me know James... looks very glossy i thought !
Brett - looks fantastic as always. THAT is the exact same shifter i bought for my car, but i didnt do such a good job mating it to the stick.. ahh well. Hope you still have that replacement unit for me haha. I may just buy a new shifter and try again. Oh and one more thing - did you paint that interior yourself?

Has anyone actually dyed the colour of their roof lining...if so what did you use to first clean it and then what was used to change it's colour, VHT vinyl spray or dye...?

Fabian - Yes in my ongoing research into this subject i have seen some roofs done and i reckon it looks sweet as ! Ill probably do the same thing as the picture below.
im pretty sure the VHT DYE gets the tick of approval for this job also, that is what i plan on using anyways.

James your a mindreader buddy.
Yeah I know what you mean, that is pristine!!!
When I had black interior thats what I was thinking of going to do but gave up as you need to start with a cream interior then paint the black not vice versa.
But that interior is very nice. Especially with black carpet. What do you want to differ James?

Thanks James for the advice and the link...am going to start with the roof lining, as it being the largest and hardest thing to remove as you need to remove all trims etc. Any idea on what to use to clean it before I spray it with VHT, am looking at going black on the lining and then maybe doing the sunvisors etc in a charcoal grey. Prefer if the roof lining was dark as it would cover most of the marks that tend to get on there somehow...

James in regard to the dash design guys for the overlay woodtrim, would you happen to know if they supply the door and front trim (the ones with the vents?) ive heard that there is some issues regarding adhesion over the long term on the doors(?). Thanks

Fabian, i plan on cleaning most my stuff with some normal interior cloth/carpet cleaner. I have some meguires stuff back home so will prob just use that. But im sure many people will recommend many different carpet cleaners.
Ben - I dont think they SUPPLY it as such.. but if you send yours to them they can re-coat it no dramas for you. I like their piano black look. But also at the end of the day if you want any colour you can always take it to ANY decent spray painter and they can sort you out. (is that what you were asking?)
Joshua - here are some more pics of his interior. I will keep my centre console thingo (between the seats) TAN coloured. Im yet to decide about the door trims and if to colour them (the bottom part)

Hi James ,
I'll answer you email shortly....as for the window buttons they are black.
Joe
PS also be very careful when painting the roof lining as it's some sort of nylon acrylic which does not accept paint and just wipes straight off....I used the leather dye for that job and came out perfect. I would suggest to try a section first to make sure it takes.

Thanks for the info Joe. SO you actually had black buttons as opposed to simply painting your spruce ones... good option i reckon.
The other Option which is a little easier to find is using the beige control unit from the baby poo interior on the black armrest as an apposed contrast.
I am actually thinking of this for myself as the black drivers one I have is not suited for my car cause I need the unit that has both the heater & folding buttons not just the folding.
So I might be getting rid of my black drivers door switch.
