hey guys, my car came with a broken stacker and i didn't bother fixing it since i hooked up an auxiliary cable to the stacker's wiring loom which plugs in to my phone or mp3 player.. so i had no use of the heavy stacker in the boot and decided to gut it out and use its casing as a storage box.. keeping a nice clean boot.. just wanted to share.. cheers!

Brilliant! I'm going to install a media player at some stage, so I can see this happening to my stacker too. I always have a few extra tools, brake fluid etc rolling about in the boot..

Gday guys
I have just fitted a new 2Din Kenwood system as the stacker wouldn't play mp3 cds and not very many off the shelf ones either. I have already chucked the front bit in the rubbish but the stacker unit is still in the boot. I like the toolbox idea so if anyone wants the guts of it let me know. Pay for postage and its yours. I live in Cairns 4868.

Hey sorry Michael you are one day late. I pulled the gutz out of the stacker box yesterday. I didn't realise before I started but I had to pretty much destroy the internals of the stacker to get them out and keep the internal frame to remount. All the little bits that used to make a stacker have gone in the bin and many of them are pretty much destroyed. If its any consolation it didn't work on many cd's anyway.
It makes a great little storage box though.
I found what looks like a factory amp under the stacker does anyone know if it is? There would be heaps of room there if it wasn't for that and the stacker box.
