Hi guys, my horn and cruise control have just stopped working so I want to take out the center of the wheel to check the connections.

I've looked through the "Steering wheel removal" tutorial but the screws I need to remove are not on my wheel. Is that tute only applicable to the uzz30?

Can anyone please tell me how to take it off, and will disconnecting the battery stop the airbag from rearranging my face should it be tripped?

you need to loosen those ones you highlighted.. and you'll need a special screwdriver to do it

I think the pics with arrows are from the tutorial, the other pics show his column without the screws.

Thats right Peter, sorry I probably should have written that.

What steps do I need to take to disable the airbag?

also leave the wheel nut on the last few threads when you try to pull it off , as they can rearrange your teeth....(you may need a puller)

Is that before or after I loosen up those bits Rob? hahaha
Most of the fixes I do with this car end up being done with that method.

If I disconnect the battery terminal can the air bag still go off?
