Just got a quick question, I went into autobarn on the weekend to buy a new wheel. I was told after I picked out 2 that both of them were illegal due to the flat bottom on them.
Can anyone confirm this at all? I seem to see these style wheels all over the place, both of them are ADR approved, but apparently that doesnt mean anything to our white and blue friends. The momo looks like the SAAS one I was eying off

Depends on two things mate. If your Soarer came factory with an air bag in the steering wheel then you cant change it at all unless you use another wheel with a air bag. Secondly only MOMO wheels are approved and allowed. Ive got no problem with my MOMO going over the pits.

Thanks for that David, no airbag in my car so I'm lucky that way I guess. I will have to keep looking and saving by the sounds of it.

that drift one looks pretty nice.. basically i think usually has to be over 340mm in diameter?? and aslong as the horn works and it is adr approved it should be ok but a better brand one is usually made better and safer anyway. another thing to look into would be a jza80 3 spoke wheel ive heard they fit and im interested to find out cause they dont look too bad and are genuine so should be fine with it

My steering wheel is a aftermarket one just like the one on the picture.
But it's all woodgrain and matches the interior perfectly, So the cops dont say anything coz it looks like it was meant to be there.

Bit of an update, I bought the DRiFT wheel, it is fully ADR compliant even comes with the famous sticker like the Momo and Issota wheels. Will be installing it this weekend, I’m actually in the process of painting my baby poo brown interior black so it will blend in better than hopefully. Thanks for everyone’s input.

Aaron, the wheel was 149.95 from autobarn and the boss kit was 76.95 at repco, autobarn tried charging me 120 for a boss.
