hi guys i have searched the archives and couldnt really find an answer to my question (perhaps i may not have looked hard enough)
im just about to get my wood grain steering wheel (with an airbag) retrimmed in leather by AA Quick trim in Sydney as suggested previously on these forums, as the wheel has definetly seen better days.
My question is when the steering wheel is removed, retrimmed and then put back on, will the airbag dash light need to be reset, if so what is required for that to happen?

Or, disconnect the battery before starting the job, and don't reconnect until the job is finished.
I would recommend this at any time when playing with airbags as a safety precaution, as the air bag could kill you if it goes off and you're too close.

Well, you could go into the dash and just take the airbag light out And dont have to worry about the pesky procedure of resetting it .. just a suggestion

just to answer my own question & to let you guys know, as Dan suggested, disconnecting the battery before doing the job and not reconnecting until after the steering wheel was refitted solved my problem of the airbag light, it did not require resetting and i did not have to worry about it exploding in my ugly mug.
