Just been wanting to take the interior door trim off to get them repaired but don't want to take the car off the road.

Wondering if the door is still entirely possible to use day to day with the interior door trim off? I figure I can open from the outside still ok, but not too sure about closing and opening from inside the car haha!

You can always just lower the window, use the outside door handle to open and put window up :-)

Just make sure you plug your window switches back in and hang em somewherre, lol

Plug the window switches back in and cable tie them to the door so they don't get smashed when you close the door from the outside and they are hanging down. It's easy to close the door from the inside by sticking your finger in one of the 3/4" holes in the metal sheet and giving it a pull with a well timed withdrawal to prevent cutting yourself... I did it for a few weeks last year.

Actually its really easy to put the interior handle back on - without the trim. I did this - as I was having many issues with my exterior handle, and hated taking the trim off every time because its starting to crumble around the screw holes.

Take the trim off, then remove the 4 bolts that hold the interior handle onto the trim, then re attach the rods and use the screw to hold it onto the door - that part is built into the door frame.

Hey presto - working door without trim - I had it off for weeks, just a bit of extra road noise nothing serious!

Even with out the handle it's a piece of cake, I drove around for a couple of weeks with my door trim removed. All you gotta do is pull the right wire, one for the lock and one for the handle. You can even plug the arm rest controls in, have them just hanging there.
