ok so i was redoing the interior...
took the centre console out, and glove box and etc and all those pieces around there... and putting it back on was painful enough
its funny how when you take things off and apart, they never seem to fit back properly or you end up with a few screws that shouldve gone somewhere but are in your tool tray. and, since im no expert it tends to happen haha!
i was respraying everything etc, and in turn when it came to putting it back in, as i was putting the glvoebox back in, i put a screw into the top left hole, and accidently shut the glove box... and now the button wont release the glove box and nor can i get it out due to the screw....
wtf do i do now cause its trapped against my gauge hose, and my gauge isnt working properly because of it.... if there any alternative or do i have to snap the glovebox and get another one?

Hahaha dude you sound like you have my luck! Did you try unlocking the glovebox just in case it locked itself? What's stopping it from opening when you hit the button?
Maybe you can get to the screw from behind the glovebox and twist it out with pliers or something?

lol the key has never worked for the glovebox so i dunno haha! when i press the button its like its not pressing against anything theres nothing there to click so it will open its not properly and the top right corner and i cant seem to push that bit into place with crack and chpping the top of the glove box
very annoying indeed.... however, i have a boost gauge installed in the woodgrain so maybe i can take the gauge out and see if i can get to the screw via that way (HIGH DOUBT IT) and due to it not being on properly its like cut off the vaccum line to the guage so its not working.... i think haha!!
such a simple task but soon as something goes wrong turns into the biggest effort in the world!!!
anyone elses ideas would be grand
thans for the idea austen.....
but on that note, why wont my key work on the glvoebox

i cant do it without breaking the glovebox or if i wedge something in there, it cracks the glovebox, ive got enough space fiddling with the mechanism (small gap can get a knife) and tried playing with the lock but not sure how it works or if there is anything i can flick
UPDATE: it looks like the cord connected to the locking device has detached from where the button is, so its possible thats why the button isnt working...

Ty maybe you can try removing the console or any other panel under the dash and try to reach up from under the dash and pulling the cable that releases the latch. I know i was doing that when i had my woodgrain panel removed, just not sure if you can reach it in the way i suggested is all. But worth a try i guess. You said it feels like it is not attached to anything if thats the case then your cable will be floating out there on its own and you should be able to pull on it and it will release the glovebox. After all thats how it works. Let us know how you went.

problem fixed.... the little silver ball thing that attaches to the button was not connected....
luckily.. since i was unable to reach anything from behind...
i forgot to realise i had a gauge built into the console and didnt even think to pull it out.. so i pulled it out , and then pulled the cord out of the hole where the gauge was and presto haha!!
such a minor problem but caused so many profanities...
