you don't need to primer with the VHT?
i just sprayed straight over the top when i did my interior. just cleaned it up with a bit of wax and grease remover and that was it. and its lasted for at least a year.
carpet wise i did clean mine. used a foaming carpet cleaner. waited for it to dry. then sprayed the paint onto it and rubbed it in with a plastic/nylon brush

the paint seemed to come out a bit better when used primer haha! oh well!
im gonna do the roof now but would sill clean the roof? and spray then rub it one way then spray and rub it another way and spray? cause its so thin can i just spray? without having use a brush?

No need for primer mate, like mentioned above, I just made sure it was clean with some PREPSOL.
I gave my carpets a token clean using some interior shampoo... but it was really a half assed job as i was painting it black anyways PLUS i had black floor mats to go in. So no primer for them either.
As for the roof..... I considered doing that also, but i couldnt be stuffed pulling the lining out of the car. I would suggest washing the roof though as not many people EVER clean theirs and the years of built up crap will amaze you.
Then just spray it and see how it turns out... but i would suggest using the brush method anyways.

yeah i defintely would pull the roof lining out to spray it. or make sure you mask off EVERYTHING! and do a good job of masking off.
because you will have to hold the can on an angle for it to work and you'll get over spray everywhere. even underneath you. and probably consider a dust/breathing mask breathing in a ton of paint fumes probably isn't the best thing for you
