I used semi-gloss exterior house paint to do my steering wheel (as in photo).
I removed the door trim and cut a small piece of door trim fabric from excess material, took this to my local hardware so as the colour could be matched and carefully painted the steering wheel. Total cost, $12.00.

Nice idea.

Instead of re-trimming my steering wheels I went on the cheap and repainted my Celsiors and Soarers factory wheel leather with satin black vinyl paint.

Actually worked okay and held up fine.

I will send my wheel away for a re-trim next time around though.

Mike, did you paint the leather or did you remove the leather and paint the plastic wheel ?

Just painted over the original leather that had gone all purple/grey and shiny.

Ty, on my steering wheel I purposely did not paint the bits which are constantly handled. So wear is not a problem.
Ali, painting the horn pad would not be any different, but being such a large area, you might see brush strokes in it.
I guess you could mask and spray paint, but then you have the problem of a perfect match.

Well, I saw my Celsior six months after I sold it and it was still all there, really good adhesion.
