Hi all, i have just noticed that my carpet is very damp under the floor mat. It had just started to rain in Adelaide(thank god)but i have not driven into any large puddles on the drivers side. I have checked under the car to see if the drain caps were sealed, which they were. Where else can the water be coming from?

Yep, coolant would be on the passenger side.
Most likely over the years people have been in and out of the door inners. Pull the interior trim off (http://soarercentral.com/sc-forum/messages/9739/53268.html?1142507165) and make sure the dust cover (plastic sheet) is in place, and has complete black goopy stuff sealing it.
One of my doors was even leaking just under the speaker pod because the previous owner had taken it out and split the little baggy that is behind it that keeps the weather out. My drivers door had the cover removed and I used black plastic that I used behind retaining walls to replace it.
I resealed mine with the black stuff you use to put windows back in. However it went hard and cracked when it supposed to stay soft. I am going to redo it using D-Mastic and see how that goes. essentially the same stuff, just a different brand.

It hasn't rained for a day and the car has only been driven on dry surfaces, carpet is getting dryer now. I pulled the carpet up on the right side, it seems the water has soaked through the bottom of the foam under the carpet to the surface. Hmmmm

Perhaps when it rained, it leaked in from the door, then has slowly come to the top through capillary action. Clear the door drain holes, and check the plastic liner as mentioned previously.

I have the same problem. Mine is caused by my window seals being worn out and cracked which allows water to run down the window and into the inside of the door instead or trickling over the seal and down the outside.
Toyota quoted me something like $150 or $200 each or something like that for new seals, haha what was I going to expect from them? im looking for other ways around the problem for now
