Hi,
I had a parcel shelf rear brake light lying around. My 32 didn't have one, because it had a rear wiper. So I installed it to see if it looked ok. Real easy to do. The rear light doesn't fit because the rear wiper extends into the parcel shelf. Just heat and un-glue fabric at the end of the base, roughly mark out and dremel to correct fit. Re-glue fabric and voila.
I had the wiring right there under the parcel shelf, plug in and insert.

I've been looking at doing this for a while, but never got around to it.
This might be the motorvation I need.
Then again, I need to change over the rear screen, mount the wiper and change the wiper stalk.
May be one day.

wouldnt it look funny from behind the car? I.e. car behind you must wonder why the tail light is blocked out partially?

Interesting. Can it be done in reverse? I like rear wipers and really miss not having one.

Does anyone know if a wiper can be fit when one didn't exist before? How much effort and what parts are required?

I guess as a starter you would need the correct rear windscreen, motor arm and wash assembly, all the tubing to connect the washer to the pump - possibly even a different pump, wiring, wiper control stalk, and relays - probably other bits to think about too.

Putting it all in would be a large job I would think - but could well be worth it if you have the time. I think I would definitely miss mine. Of corse I live in NZ, rain capital of the South Pacific.

Like I said, I'll do it one day.

Dang, and I was hoping half the bits, wiring harness etc would be there ready to use.
