hey guys,

I have partially installed my levoc, but i am having trouble installing the shifter over the metal extension without the whole shifter popping up when i depress the shift tab.

The last owner (used knob) filled in the rear grub screw with what i thought was solder but it wont melt/budge. Am i missing something really simple here?

Also what is the process on fitting the rubber grommet? I find the importscene instructions helpful up to this point, then a little vague here

It took me about half a day to install it.
Afterwards I had to adjust and re-tighten it every so often.
It has been good the last couple of years though.

You have to keep the thing in exactly the right place and tighten the screws pretty tight, otherwise you cannot release the key after driving.

It is pretty easy to test, just putting the key in and taking it out after changing gears.

I'm sorry, it's a long time since I did this and apart from it being a bitch I cannot remember how I did it.

I know some people had an easier time but they probably know what they were doing.

Benny did the back of your shifter have a grub screw that looks like it was welded/soldered closed?

I'm approaching exams over the next few weeks but I will be on a nice 3 month holiday after that which gives me ample time to mod, still a pain in the arse job thus far though. I have connected it to my overdrive button, and the levoc is sitting in my centre console until I have the patience to deal with it again haha
