Hey guys,
Recently my v8 developed a weird locking issue. Basically when I insert my key into the passenger side lock (I often use this door because my carport is too tight on the drivers side) it often jams and it takes two or so tires to get the key to slip in fully. After that when I turn the key there seems to be a little resistance before it clicks over.
It didnt really bother me but now its started giving me issues with the 20 km autolock (it wont lock so it just keeps attempting and clicking), additionally the door doesnt unlock when I unlock the drivers side, or lock for that matter.
While it does sound pretty similar to this: http://soarercentral.com/sc-forum/messages/282/115504.html I dont really want to get too carried away pulling apart doors and replacing locking mechanisms so I was wondering if spraying some oil into the keyhole and around the lock could possibly help? Can anyone recommend something that could work without lots of pulling apart and replacement work?

Yeah I was worried about that.
The thing that I find a bit weird though is that I would find this sort of problem to be one of those gradual ones that gets worse bit by bit, whereas my lock just decided to stop working within two or three drives (I dont even drive my car everyday) rather than over the course of a month or something.
Is there a guide anywhere on fixing the problem? I spent over two hours on here looking for other lock threads but it seems all you guys are pretty mechanically gifted unlike me :-P
