Welcome any help or direction to get my boot open. Story so far. Must have left boot open over several days result flat battery. Problem was I did not realise this until I put my bags in and closed it only to get into the car and realise it was flat. Charged overnight reconnected battery alarm goes of (normal) however unable to stop the alarm (code CA-630) Unable to stop alarm headlights on kill switch no joy. Many phone calls later one of their trouble shooters has a look at it also unable to solve problem. We did find some fuses blown replaced these and blew again. Engine bay trac & radio 1. Also for some reason the key does not open the boot it turns but nothing. Need to get m bags out for work at some point soon any help or hints from the forum would be greatly appreciated I am getting very frustrated with it..

Hello, Any help or direction to get my boot open would be appreciated. The Story so far.

I Must have left the boot open over several days which resulted in a flat battery. Problem was I did not realize it was flat until I put my bags in and closed it, only to get into the car and realize it was flat.

I Charged the battery overnight and reconnected it,Now the alarm goes of (normal), however I am unable to stop the alarm (code CA-630) Unable to stop the headlights flashing on kill switch.

Many phone calls later one of the trouble shooters from the Alarm company had a look at it he also was unable to solve the problem.

We did find some fuses blown and replaced these and they blew again. Engine bay trac & radio 1. Also for some reason the key does not open the boot it turns but it does not open.

I Need to get my bags out for work at some point soon any help or hints from the forum would be greatly appreciated I am getting very frustrated with it..

The key should open the boot. as it actuates the lock directly. regardless of a flat battery

The switch inside actuates the solenoid.

Id say something is wrong with the lock or latch.
And you probably never noticed because your used to using the switch in the cabin..

Any ideas guys?

That would most likely be correct as I have never had to use the key previously so would not know if it wasn't working previously. the pain

So hopefully we can solve it using the collective resources of the forum. Rather strange that the alarm appears to be acting up as well?

I would suggest the alarm is kicking in and not allowing power to most or all your systems. The alarm will be demobilising most these systems hence no power to open the boot solenoid.
And then your lock mechanism mechanical link is also broken (means you cant open with key directly)

I suggest you take off the plug to the boot release from behind the switch and I'm sure you can hotwire it. You can use any 12v source, Eg portable jump starter or spare battery (not conencted to car) this should get your boot open for now.

Then as for your alarm. Is you bonnet still open?
do you have a bonnet open activated switch for the alarm? maybe just shut the bonnet and try deactivating the alarm?

Thanks Daniel that sounds like a good work around, as for the bonnet open and closed still seems same problem. I have been talking to the guy who dropped by last night he is beginning to think the alarm is blowing the fuses, but I will try that direct wiring to excite the solenoid cheers

does anyone have a link with pictures on how to get at the wiring behind that boot release or even access the solenoid elsewhere in the wiring?

OK sorted the alarm out but I must have blown a few fuses found 2 under the hood but would assume some in cabin drivers side as the only power indication I now have is the door open indicator. Any short cuts as to which fuses would need changeing?

Replaced 4 that I found blown including 1 fuse link. Still no power to instruments boot catch petrol release or ignition/starter. Interior light working as is doors open indicator chime for key in ign with door open. ? Still puzzeled perhaps relays might be next option?
