As title states
In my soarer, you can wind the window down fine, but everytime you want it up, you gotta push/slide it up with your hands. But once up you can wind down again no probelems

sounds like the plastic clip on the steel wire is broken. New regulator/motor assembly required if this is the case. You can do a bodgey on them and wire them up as a temporary solution. I did this and it worked fine for months. Second one I tried only worked for a week or so. You basically need to bind the window frame to the cable so it goes up and down.
I ended up buying two new ones from Toyota, and now I know it is another 15-20 years until I need to worry about it again.
