I sought to purchase a shift knob from a JZA80, turns out the seller sent me the entire shifting mechanism. The JZA80 stalk is a lot narrower than the Soarer one, so I figure I may have to swap the entire unit over. Has anybody done the conversion who could help me out?

Nobody here can shine some light on the installation? I thought it was a fairly common mod

Never heard of it being done before. Personally I prefer the look of the soarer one.

I've fitted a gated shifter from a JZX100, I'm thinking you should be able to get away with just attaching the shifter stalk to the shift linkage in the transmission tunnel.
