Hey Hayden,
Best method is to remove the door trims completely, then remove the door pocket, there are a bunch of screws and also some metal tabs underneath the underlay on the back of the trim.
Then with about 5 more screws you can remove the handle.
I also recommend you remove the speaker grill.
Once you have all the bits apart, hit it with some wax and grease remover and wipe it off.
Then just start spraying, it's a really quick process and is so much easier than painting plastic etc. as you don't need to sand/prime or clear.
I also wrapped my wood trims in carbon fibre. Just to give the whole car a more modern interior.
I also did the shifter surround as you mentioned, it looks really good on the shifter surround as I'm sure your existing plastic is a bit scratched.

Alistair they look awesome!! Thanks heaps i didn't think of using wax and grease remover. That would clean them up really well before I started painting thanks for that.

OK so the control panel is painted, looks a lot cleaner and nicer than the beige/brown.
I used Krylon Fusion to paint it, basically the only option in my opinion, it doesn't require priming and is matte black so it looks factory.
Here's some pics of the progress.
Do light coats, I think I did about 10 extremely light coats, waiting only 2 mins between.
I'll let it dry now for a few hours while I'm out and about
By the way don't anyone make the mistake I did and paint your vinyl with 3M vinyl paint, it went on great but was scratching off within a week.
I ended up having to clearcoat the bits which made them hard and shiny.
I'm redoing the rest of my trim. The only image done with VHT is the drivers side door, which as you can see looks a hell of a lot better than the rest.

Good idea, but I'm not too fussed about the LED's, I'm not even sure they worked before hand to be honest.
I repaired my door trims with aluminium flyscreen and ABS glue, it works quite well and allows you to cut out custom shapes with the flyscreen and then cover with glue

I mean that once you take the trim off you will find lots of cracks and breaks in it.
Around the door control part, around the speaker grill, around the armrest mount, and likely in a number of other spots.
Also the window trim itself is prone to breaking and should be reinforced the entire length of the section the sits on top of the door trim to either fix the current break or prevent a future break.

Hi guys I recieved my new side mirror today since a truck knocked my other one and broke the glass and clips. To my disgust I recieved a new one with the plugs not matching. Mine is a smalles plug and the one I recieved has a longer type plug. So I'll have to do the chop and match treatment. And I also removed my whole interior panel on the left door! Haha their are some screw bits that I didn't need to undo since the plastic was cracked around them. Lol. I know what you mean now when I might have to do some minor repairs before replacing . But I'm confident now that the dying will work well.

Any vinyl dye will be ok as long as it's not a paint. Dye seeps into the product giving a lasting effect while paint will add a top layer and is not good for products with plenty of flex, paint doesn't bend it cracks
