First post and a problem all ready.. welcome anyway My first and initial thought is the possibility of a broken or loose wire somewhere. Might be a job for the auto electrician. BUT some soarers are set up to lock. The way my car is set up at the moment is once the car reaches 30km/h the door automatically lock. The passenger do did not open until they manually unlocked the door. I have changed this so the doors unlock soon as I turn the car off.. very handy……

correction on the last sentence..... The passenger cannot open the door until they have manually unlocked it. I have changed my set up so the doors unlock soon as I turn the car off.. very handy……

thanks, it was working fine for the last few weeks and does the lock thing at 30kms but could never open the passenger door from the outside and then today it stopped opening from the inside still locks at 30kms but then keeps clicking like its still trying to lock, I've found posts how to fix the door but since it wont open you can't take the door skin off

Hannah, part of the problem sounds like the yellow clip on the inside has broken , it costs $15 from toyota for a new one......local mechanic charged me $30 to install it...money well spent.
Ken, how did you set the passenger door to unlock when you turn the car off??

Greg, just the way my central locking system is setup.. I brought a kit from Jaycar which my brother installed, have no idea what he had done, hahaha works great….

Just a random thought… 1. I assume you probably have tried these 2. From memory im not even sure if soarer have a key lock on the passenger door? Have you tried to unlock the door with just the Key? Car wont unlock if you flick the lock manually inside? So whats actually not working, is it the lock or the handles? Sorry for the questions…just trying to help

I know this post is a little late but it might help some one else. The passenger door lock has several rods attached to it. One goes to the lock, another goes to the door handle release. There is another that links the external door release to the internal door release. This rod can bend just a little , but it is enough to stop it sliding up a groove it runs in and stops you from being able to open your door. It's a bit of a beach to get to, but I found removing the bolts to the exterior handle allows you to get access to it.
This is what happened to me. I hope it can help others.
