If this has been covered already, I'm sorry. i did a search and couldn't really find anything.
I have a smashed '93 V8 soarer (just front panels, etc), and have recently bought a '91 TT. I want to dye/paint the V8 interior (including leather seats) and dump it into the TT. My question is, are the interior's the same i.e. will the V8 stuff fit in the TT?
My guess is yes, as I can't see why the interior measurements would be any different. but not being sure....
If this can be done, I won't need to take my car off the road for a great period of time. I can just dye/paint the parts, then when all done, gut the TT and install the 'new' interior. Then, of course, sell the TT interior, which is in great condition. Just want black and leather seats lol

The interior is identical, I have a black dyed interior, but i reccomend getting the seats re trimmed,(can buy ebay kits) not dyed, dying them wont work, unless professionally done. also anything that you will be touching regularly , steering wheel, centre console etc, because the dye will wear off eventually.
you may need to run 12v power too the v8 seats if they are electric, pretty easy to do.
Use VHT Vinyl dye, $16 a can, in satin black for the interior, if you take your time it'll look like OEM black, just use a wax and grease remover to prep the surfaces.

Cool, cheers for the info.
I won't need to worry about running power to the seats as the seats in my TT are electric too ;-)
Know of a 'rough' cost of getting a ebay kit for the seats? And would the steering wheels be swappable too? As I could get the V8 wheel re-trimmed then swap them ;-)

One other question.
I'm thinking of taking out the rear seat and passenger seat while over here in Vic, as selling it in Tassie will be too hard. If I get pulled over, with those seats missing, and (obviously) only me in the car, will that land me in trouble?

Well i purchased the ebay seat cover sets, for $350 shipped from the states, + $400 to get them fitted by an upholstery place, you can DIY but won't get a perfect fit, takes a lot of time and patience, So $750 all up, for the font seats, rear seats, and centre console.
Check out alistair's thread on painting his interior black using VHT, he also got this kit and did it himself, he got black with red stitching.
And yes the steering wheels are changeable, only thing you have to worry about is if one has an airbag and the other doesn't.
I drove for a little while with my rear seats at the upholstery shop, but never got pulled over, i do believe it is illegal, as it puts your car in an un roadworthy state.
