As Steve suggests birds-eye Maple, although "birds-eye" refers to the figure*, not the species- birds-eye can occur in Huon Pine and several different species of maple. The trims appear to be a heat-moulded item with plainer wood as backing and even a layer of aluminium to (presumably) help resist warping. As with many species of fine wood veneers, the maple is very thin. *Figure in wood is a description of inclusions in the wood which include the grain and can be described in many ways- things like burl and fiddleback. Not all of the veneer used in Soarer trim shows distinct birdseye, much of what is my car is merely nicely grained.
