Looks good Andy. Mine is rather similar; cream with factory black carpet. If yours is a UZZ31, when you converted to manual, where did you put the switches for the TEMS, TRC, etc? I'll be doing my conversion to 6 speed shortly, and i'm thinking I may fabricate up a blanking plate to cover the ashtray - that sits next to the cigarette lighter and mount the switches there.

| Yeah mine is a 31 as well, but i don't have TRC. here's what i did with my air switches ;) They fit nicely and i can still close the lid
The ashtray slot is tapered so i just slot the switches in there and they're held in tight, easily removed if i need to stuff around with the headunit etc I have a 6 speed tremec T56, are you doing the same? |

How is it to drive a v8 manual? Much quicker then the auto?

Bit more power comes through, doesn't feel too much quicker although it's a hell of a lot more fun to drive now haha

That's awesome Andy, thanks for that. Very useful - think I'm on the right path then! I'm getting a V160 from a Supra. I've also got my manual dash, ECU's, and ordered my manual surround. It should all bolt up rather easily. I hope to get it all completed by the end of December

Is yours going into a v8 or a I6? Cause converting a v8 is a hell of a lot more work lol cant just settle to swap over dash and ecu etc have to get aftermarket ecu to do it "properly"

Hey Andy, the gearbox will be going behind a vvti 1JZ, so it's all a straight bolt up. (besides the new transmission tunnel which has to be welded in) They never made V8 manuals, so understandably, you'd have a few more things to source and work out. Would be a very entertaining drive though once complete.

James the transmission tunnel doesnt need to be welded in. Just rivet it

That makes things somewhat easier Ali. I'm really looking forward to having the car being manual. It will make a big difference to the driving enjoyment thanks and sorry for the thread hijack Andy.

I like the interior blend of colours Andy, how far up the from windows did you do black? Is the roof lining black too?

That's okay James haha! Harry - The roof is still cream coloured, as are the sunvisors and reading light/sunroof switch (may change to black at some point). Things in VHT black are A pillars, B pillars, window trims, centre console surround, steering column surround, and dash all other trims are matte carbon hydrographics Centre console lid and handbrake boot are custom black leather jobs

Hi guys just wondering was your trim around the head unit and climate control(with the volume and other knobs) always black? Or did you buy black ones?

I used vht. Its a decent product and holds up well against the UV. I wouldn't spray the window trims or anywhere you touch/rub often as I found it rubs off over time. My dash is vht black and has no fade at all.

I've had the window trims sprayed for over a year now, still yet to see any wear and tear become evident if you clean it up good enough and spray them when the trims are warm the dye deep seeds into the leather and the colour really sets in however i wouldn't spray seats with it cause the continual butt warms and rubbing would definitely have an effect

Nice job Andrew, it looks really good, so good in fact I'm thinking of doing something similar. Can I ask if you re-coloured the rest of the centre console and the lower dash? From the pictures it looks lighter than the normal beige interior.

All the black parts with the exception of the dash are factory black, and all the beige parts are original

Haha. Thanks for that Andrew, I guess it's something to do with the way my monitor reproduces the colours, definitely looks lighter to me than my one.
