My parcel shelf is starting to look a bit fugly. Rather than recarpeting it, I was wondering if I should retrimm it with leather? Anybody ever tried that?

i looked into it but you need to buy a whole hide and it was NOT going to be cheap.There are some good imitation leathers / vinyl around but i didnt find anything i liked. i was also concerned about reflection.

considered suede?
I ended up finding a pretty close match to the stock felt/ carpet. It looks pretty good.
