I have had to remove my dash a couple of times, and I have been annoyed by the screw inside the plastic "tower" on the bottom piece of the shell, which seems to pop sideways out of the sides of this "tower" very easily and is generally difficult to locate. While I could have just used an allen head screw or stuck the screw onto the driver with blu-tack, I wenr for a more permanent fix - a spacer tube from a wall anchor bolt, glued in place in the plastic "tower" with a spot of hot melt glue. The screw head sits on it, and is held square so it starts correctly and doesn't slip out the side of the "tube" while you're attempting to tighten it. Position the tube so that the point of the screw has nowhere else to go but out the end of the plastic "tower". Works a treat!

Maybe so, Mark, as one of the four clips that hold the two halves of the shroud together had been broken off at some stage. I still can't imagine this screw being anything but fiddly to locate, so this idea might be worth something to somebody.
