Hey guys, just a quick question.

My mate scored a nice Soarer for a bargain... the reason for the bargain being that it was apparently obvious 1 of the previous owners didn't appreciate a soarer for what it was... there were plenty of ciggie burns, stains, shreds in the velour and trims, ash and plastic burns in the cup holder etc. Mechanically it was A1 and the paint was almost unmarked with reasonable km's so he nabbed it. He is a furniture upholsterer by trade and i can get good Suede and the proper materials so we can attempt a retrim.

We both know our way around cars but what i want to know is how hard is it to get out the interior on the soarer ??? i have only ever got as far as the door trims and steering console and they were somewhat of a method...

Im mainly worried about the dash... is it a bitch ??? anyone have any tips they can give us. It would be much appreciated.

lol i was in the same prediciment as your mate when i bought mine (no respect for previous owner),front seats unscrew and un clip if eletric, rear seats pop out at 2 clips in seat then back will just pull out, follow the guide as to how to remove center consol (cd player install, in how to section) there is also a thread somewhere on glove box removal, dash not to sure, but with glove box and centre console out of the way probly not overly difficult also a new thread on how to remove door trim aswell(in how to), good luck

The bottom half of the interior isn't too bad to pull apart (haven't pulled out the front seats before though), just don't lose the screws hehehehe.

And if you have electric seats, make sure you brace yourself as that driver's seat weighs a fair bit. Also when moving the seat out, beware of the front of the seating rail catching on the door trim. It's a tough angle to get it out. Probably better if you removed the door trim before removing the seats.

If you can be bothered, post some before and after pics.

Hi Ben, I'm currently getting my chairs retrimmed at the moment and my trimmer told me that the front seats were very easy to take off. They are just a bit on the heavy side (since mine are electric seats). The back seats are fairly easy to take off. I think it's 4 screws for the top half of the rear seats, and the bottom half just pops up with a bit of effort. Hope this information helps.
