Well, the mrs got in the TT today and Tried to adjust the Upright section of the seat to til backwards, And seems she may have busted the switch...
It will still tilf forward but not backwards. Can anyone shine some light on it? And how do i change the Switch if needed. I guess i will have to try and remove the switch and maybe fix it if a broken solder or something. Any help would be great guys, cheers.

Very easy.
All you need to do is unbolt the 4 (Or 5) bolts that hold the thing in, and if it's a luxo-pak TT unplug the electrical connectors from under the seat, then heave it out...........Be warned, they ain't light!

Well, i spent some time removing the passenger seat and some minor disassembly work on it this morning. Removed the Upright Tilt button and fixed what i could. After putting it back in, it sounded better and felt like it should work, but guess what? NOT WORKING still... Im wondering whether i may have to find a replacement electric switch unit that bolts to the side of the seat. Just wondering whether the actual motor that works the upright tilting may have crapped itself. Oh well, back to the drawing board.

NOt sure, But i managed to fix my issue... The actual Black plastic stalk inside the swicth had melted 1 side off... It has 2 sides which work in unison to acticate the terminals..
I used some plastic and soldering iron and plastic welded the stalk and repaired it Fixed it good and proper. only took me about 2 years though, hehe.

Thanks for this info! My passenger seat is showing the exact same symptoms. I will check the switch itself to see if I can fix it. If it looks ok, i guess Ill have to pull the seat out and check the recline motor etc.

I had a Supra Front/back switch apart recently that had stopped working. Turns out that with lots of little arching constantly in operation it can cause some deposits on the metal contacts of the switch. As I've seen with other electrical work, deposits reduce conductivity and increase resistance. With increased resistance comes increased heat on the components and that's when you get melting plastic components and melting of the plastic housing holding the contact points in the switch body. This in turn creates more deposits and very soon your switch stops altogether. If your messing with 10+ year old seats and components particularly ones like the side/lean forward/back buttons where you hold the switch on, and you've got the play time, it's worth hooking in and pulling them apart enough to get the switches out, pull them apart, clean up the contacts with a bit of emery paper, jizz em with a bit of CRC 2.26 or similar and reassemble tightening all your earths and other wiring contacts also to reduce resistance. The Supra and I think Soarer seat switches are all plastic click apart/together if you don't break the lugs. With a few investigations you'll learn to do this well without breaking anything and fail proof your electrics for another 10 years. That's my two cents.
