Has anyone out there changed to full sized spare, and if so, what did you use to retain the wheel? We have just changed to Lexus wheels (pics to follow) and we're keeping a 15" wheel as a spare, but the space-saver retainer is too short.
Since some Soarers came with a full-size spare it's reasonable to assume they had a full-size retainer?
Mike, this may sound odd but which way do you have the wheel sitting? Do you have it sitting face down or face up? As I noticed that the space saver in my current Soarer is face up but in my old one it's face down and I'm pretty sure the retainers were the same size.
Yeah, its got to get through the fuel tank and the back seat to get to you anyway, so if you've hit anything hard enough to make it do that, you probably aren't going to be wanting to live anymore anyway...

I tried putting the wheel in "upside down", with padding because it does rub- but the retainer is then too short. I'd actually prefer "upside down" so that the resultant space can be used.
For the time being I'll just sit the full-size wheel in the bay, but be on the lookout for two retainers (with so many wheels I can now do full-size for the '95 as well). So I have two sexy brand new unused space savers Unfortunately the tyres are different, so they aren't really a "pair" ;)
