Has anyone repaired the cracks in the centre and side dash air vent surrounds? I want to repair if it's possible mine and am wondering if anyone is aware of a tutorial (showing removal steps and repair details) or do I just replace the sucker?

If I could have found one I would have replaced mine but as Darryn said good luck in finding one. However I did repair mine using Bostik Titan Bond part A & B ..I found it quite good as it flexes with the shrinkage that occurs. It needs around 12 hours for it to set properly so I used a bull dog clip to hold it in place over night.

Darryn, the post that you mention on Reepa's site does not tell you how to fix up the vent. It tells you how to remove the vent.

Michael, You're right.....but in all honesty getting the vents out is the hard part, if you need a tutorial to glue a cracked piece of plastic then I would recommend finding someone else to do the job. A better discussion would be about what products people have used and the results they got.

From memory, if ya do a search, someone did a thread about how they repaired the cracked center vent, but I can't for the life of me remember when or who.

Well that's the info I am after, (what glue). I can pull the car to bits (been there) but glueing plastic with the CORRECT glue is the difficult bit.

OK Mr anti lazy typing and punctuation nazi, your mailbox is FULL, hehehehehe. Also guys, most epoxy resins (2 part glues) will work well on plastic. Steer away from cynoacrylite based products (superglue) as they tend to leave a nasty white stain. At least if you're going to use that, just make sure your intern isn't wearing a black dress...

Go down to a sign manufacturer of a plastic fabrication place and buy/scab some glue called acrifix. Superglue will join the crack instantly but for god's sake do not let it run onto the showface. It will leave a white residue. The acrifix is an awesome product to squirt onto the back of the vent to build up the vent's strength. Done it to mine about 2 years ago. Still good today.

HaHa!..........It'd be worth GOLD Pez. But knowing your luck if ya flogged it, your in-car one would explode into a zillion bits shortly there after
