Hi,

I just did the blue dash conversion. The speedometer etc. was not a problem, but there is no CCFL tube at all. The caps and transistors are different too and in different locations. My Soarer is a end 1994 model, so maybe Toyota changed the layout of the dash? There is a red filter in front of the odometer LCD, so I probably can just replace it with a blue one. Any ideas where I could buy one (similar to the ones from Importscene)?

Um, judging from my blue dash kit, all the filters are just pieces of transparent blue perspex cut to size. Very easy to do (fine blade in a jigsaw) and very cheap also. Just pay a visit to your local perspex plastic place and they'd probably give you a piece of that size.

Yeah I done my Blue Dash yesterday, had the CCFL tube and everything ready to go, opened it up and there was not fluro as well.

Top part looks good though, and was easy enough but I think I have to finish the job

Did you guys take the main circuit boards out and open the white plastic section up?

Sure did, mate took everything apart that would come apart looking for that tube, for the bottom of mine there is another screen, similar to the speedo etc with a red filter. That is at the bottom under the circuit boards.

I knew I should have taken some pics

Yeah, it's weird. I thought maybe they changed the dash design in the newer models (mine is 11/1994), but Luke's car is year 1992...

Ah well, you might be able to upgrade to a fluro later on when you get an 8! (runs for the hills!)

hey all, this may sound stupid but could you turn the dash (tach, speedo, fuel etc...) a red colour instead of green? and how the hell do you do it! anything is better than green

Filters my man, filters. As I stated above somewhere, all they are is pieces of transparent perspex cut to size. Get some in a colour you want and cut accordingly. Apparently though red isn't too good for the dash, doesn't show up properly. Anyone confirm/deny these viscous rumours?

These rumours must be pretty thick and gooey...:-)

Interesting to hear that "pov packs" (and, I guess, G-Packs) don't have fluoros, I thought we just missed the scroll function. Ah well, one less thing to go wrong!
