I want to get Oil Temp and Oil Pressure gauges in the cabin but where have others mounted their gauges? Are 2 gauge a-pillar pods available?

Thanks.

Have you got an aftermarket head unit ? as in SINGLE DIN ?

I mounted my Boost gauge Under my headset and angled it towards me.

Just dont put them on dash or anywhere that obstructs your vision of the road *i.e a-pillar* and or speedo *i,e behind wheel* coz that would be NAUGHTY NAUGHTY !! *according to QLD police.

Mind you, heaps of people seem to do and dont get in trouble for it , but it IS defectable.

Oh and im pretty sure two gauge pods ARE avail, but they look kinda yukky in my opinion. i got a custom job done to mount my gauge, they guy said it was EASY AS !

You could fit 2 gauges under the headset as long as they are not massive ones. Oh and get electric ones also, oil lines and stuff in car = bad

I've got a UZZ31 so I have the EMV in the centre... not much real estate around there unfortunately. The a-pillar of a Soarer is so wide you could put a 5" monster tacho in front of it and it wouldn't make a difference :-)

Having said that I'd rather not fit an a-pillar pod but am struggling to find somewhere else which is neat.

this is where i mounted my boost gauge, currently fibreglassing a mould to sit just above the centre air vents for my three other gauges, making it in a way that it can be removed and not harm the leather.

Cheers

That's pretty neat. Would be interested to see pics of the others once you're done.

Hmmm... thanks guys. I've seen gauges in the wood trim before but I'm not a fan of that, plus I want them close to my line of vision so I can keep an eye on them during track days.

Damien
Mount them on the bonnet mate - don't forget to use chromed mounting cups

Glovebox for day to day and then temporarily in front of the air vents for track days works for me.

when i was at a track day in wakefield park i hardly remember having a chance to look at the guages except for the main strait..

even with the air fuel ratio guage its pretty hard to keep an eye on it..

That'ts what peak and memory recall options are for on better gauges :-)
