Okay have a GT-TL and was not fortunate enough to have the sub come with the car. At present I only have the "third-eye" brake light on the rear parcel shelf with a fairly large cover over it.
Now I have also purchased a second hand sub cover
However when I put the 2 together, there is no way that they appear to fit (see example below). Have I purchased the wrong cover?

you cant put both parcel shelves back to back and mark out the original one on the sub parcel shelf and then alter to fit, or is it too much stuffing around??

Steven way too much stuffing around. Took some pics of the nightmare it would be to even get it to look just right. After all the butchering that could be done, it would look horrid with the current configuration.

It's not so much the shelf itself that's the problem, its the sub grill/brake light assy that's different.

Yes it is the brake light assembly that's different, hence the reason why the sub cover wouldn't fit. It's designed for those Soarers that didn't get the parcel shelf tail light.
Damn, I could have bought this shelf off you, but I've already had a custom grill installed so too late I reckon you should find the right shelf, instead of stuffing around with this one. I'm sure there'll be plenty of people wanting to buy the one you bought...

My old car hehehe. I fitted that in their too (I had nothing on the back, just the two 6" speakers). The cover cost me $90, probably too much but that was a while back.

Daniel that's the definately the one I need. I have actually managed to get offered one and have bought it. So should hopefully be here by the end of next week. So the one I currently have will most likely be sold off. Will put it in the For Sale section as soon as I have received the other one.

Will, why don't you remove your current parcel shelf, remove the parcel shelf brake light and put your new parcel shelf cover in place.
The only thing to remember, when you remove the brakelight, keep the globes from the removed brake light in the loom, just hang it down or hide it somewhere, that was you wont get the brake light error.

Maurice I did think of that, but I like my rear parcel shelf brake light. More visibility on the road when you are braking. I like the back of my car to light up when I brake, the tail lights, the spoiler light and the high light. Also I like how that looks.
Either way it doesn't matter any longer, as I have purchased and received the subwoofer shelf with the brake light connection. I will be installing it at some point as I now have all the bits and pieces. Thanks to Ben for the supply of the shelf/light/woofer combo.

Yeah, I have the same setup, a have the rear parcel shelf brake light and I want to get rid of it, how much did you get the parcel shelf cover for? I wanna head down that path in future, just hoping to get an idea on price.
