In front of the memory switches on the driver's side and corresponding position on the passenger side. The switch does not click and the heaters are pretty slow, worst I have had (of 3 cars owned and a rental car with five (!) settings).

How warm do the seats get?

Pretty warm, and effective once they get there, but they do not seem to warm up much faster than the car heater itself. I expect them to come in beforehand.

Daniel whats going on in the second pic? That looks like a pretty tacky way to blank out the seat buttons, is that factory? Seat heaters rock, but yeah they do take a little while to kick in...

Phil, I got the second picture somewhere on the net and yes its doesnt look like from the factory heh. Maybe an option for the TT?

Only leather cars had seat heaters, so never in a TT. So far as I know, all V8 Ltd had leather and memory in which case the photos with blanks are probably from a U.S. SC300 or SC400, because it is the memory buttons which are missing.

After 1994, v8 limiteds lost the seat memory function afaik. But they were too cheap to remake the templates.

Damn I've got the dodgy looking button in the second pic. I've been wondering what the blanked out bits were for, and your spot on Callum mines a '94 31.

Not quite spot on. It must have been an option because my '94 has all the buttons one can muster.

Kev, you say in your profile that your car lacks a "tv monitor". Do you mean it lacks the touch-screen EMV? If so, I am less surprised that it lacks seat memories. They were probably part of the package with EMV.

Then you mean AFTER 1995, because 1994-1995 was a single model series. Anyone with a 1996+ have seat memories?

Good stuff Don but at this point the query is about seat memories, not heaters. Is it the same?

Dunno mate perhaps the electric steering has a memory unit thingy as well . With mine it has locking arms on the steering column that lets you move it up or down, in and out. Neil mentioned the electric version in an earlier post. Spewing that I don't have one though along with the other cool extras I've unfortunately miss out on

The electric steering adjustment gives what it says, a flat knob to adjust the wheel up/down and in/out. It also works with the ignition and with the seat memories. When you pull out the ignition key, the wheel retracts and lifts to make it easier for you to get in an out (no, I am not fat). It returns when you put the key back into the ignition. This function can be switched off. With the seat memories (two driver settings available) not only do the seats adjust but also the external mirrors and steering wheel adjust to that driver's preference. Pretty handy for us. Although my son is not much taller than me, we have a different preference for wheel position as well as positioning the seat and backrest differently. The external mirrors are OK for both of us so now all we need is motorised and memorised adjustment of the rear view mirror.... It was actually one of my criteria selecting a Soarer that it had to be a model with electric adjustment of wheel and seat, with memories. I was looking for a luxurious fast cruising car. More performance was added later.

Another example of how advanced and well finished these cars were and still are compared to just about anything else. I wonder how much Toyota spent on R & D?
