My Soarer was only recently complianced and thankfully it came with original seatbelts.
Thing is that for some reason since I got it, the drivers side belt doesn't retract when the engine is running and it is clipped in. As soon as you unclip it, it retracts, but not with much force.
I had a play with the passenger side belt and I discovered it has two retractors. One is on permanently and a second one turns off when the belt is clipped in. When you clip the belt in, one retractor turns off, so you can move around comfortably in the seat without being strangled, but as soon as you unclip the belt the other retractor turns on and the belts snaps off.
So I reckon that the permanent retractor on my drivers side belt is stuffed. Anyone have any idea how to fix it?
Apologies for the repost, noone answered in the electrical forum.

I have the same problem. It's winter here and mines already parked, plus I don't have any time. This means I won't be looking at it for maybe a couple weeks, or it could be a couple months. Keep me posted if you figure anything out, please. I'll also let you know how I fix mine, once I get around to it
