Hey Guys, going through my inventory as a bit of a prelude to a sale, I have heaps of boxes of bits, much of which is pretty useless and I was about to throw a heap out, but noticed this in one of the boxes. I'm not sure what it does.. it says sensor acceleration on one side (or something like that) http://www.rampant.net.au/shop/images/IMG_8315.JPG I'm gonna open it up and have a look inside it... it was in a box of bits, so it can't be worth too much? I'm sure all Soarers have these in them? Cheers Aaron

ok, I just peeled the rubber back, and the bit on top, kinda looks like a glass tube - it says that "red indicates excessive impact". So I guess it's to indicate cars that have been in a serious accident? Anyways, kinda found that interesting, so I biffed it against the wall as hard as I can. It's amazing how many impacts it took before it turned red! I actually ended up tying rope around it and whizzing it around my head a few times before slamming it into the ground as hard as I could I guess Soarers are built tough! Cheers anyways!

Thats a sensor (g-meter?) for the UZZ32 suspension computer Looks to be still good so keep it, im sure someone will buy it. Also i think they are kinda fragile so dont try opening it up or dropping it [edit] oh.... too late

oh... bugger... see post after my first one It's cool, I think that not many uzz32 owners would be dodgy enough to replace a damaged one to try and pass their car off as undamaged - I mean, that would be pretty unethical

I'm guessing that because it was from a UZZ32 they're pretty rare and expensive? oops I should have given that a bit more thought

lol Aaron! Nah its not (as far as i know) anything to do with crash detecting, there are a couple of them in the car and they detect acceleration and cornering forces so the suspension computer can control the hydraulics

Ah well, there's not that many uzz32s around, there can't be any demand for them! It does say on top that if the tube is red, it indicates excessive impact... aaah.. on the OTHER side, it says "handle with care" I didn't see that bit! I wonder if it's hard to fix it? Or I could just get some white paint?

Aaron love to see you swing that around in your shop and then slam it into the ground. As you have to move all those wheels and parts. No room to fart let alone to swing something around mate.

ok, well I felt bad for destroying something that The Boss needs so badly, even though he's an a grade a$$hole to me so I got onto the Toyota Wreckers across the road who got onto their hotline wreckers system. They managed to find one and it will be here this morning, it was only $500!! I think that they didn't really realise the value of it, since *someone* said they're worth $1000!!!! So Boss - there you go mate, problem sorted.
