Heya, Just wondering where Peninsula Customs Links went to? Was just about to post a question in there? Anyone know? Thanks.

Peninsula Customs was removed as the moderator did not like foroum members getting qualtiy products and with low prices as he thought Peninsula customs needs to show documentation for every product they sell and certification while other traders are exempt from this.

Khalid, I understand your frustration and anger but I watched that brake thread carefully and I think that legitimate questions (including a post which was removed) were not answered effectively. Further, my own query about one of your key quality references received no response. ========= Being in a small business, especially a startup, is tough; I know. Each buyer needs to make their own choice about products, price and information. Direct contact with a salesman is not a warranty.

How absurd. Does Soarercentral have a Tyranny response team.? |

In order to clarify the situation and to prevent any wrong stories getting started, this is the full text of the last email I sent to Khalid. He chose to ignore my request to "remove that thread until you have proper certification" and instead cleared out any posts that he didn't like to answer. He did have the option to stay as a trader. Nothing has been deleted or edited apart from a spelling error. ------------- Hang on a bit, I really think you have got the wrong angle on this. Neil may have come across a bit gruff, but it wasn't because of a competing trader. Neil isn't in the business of selling brake rotors much, it's no bother to him at all. But by law, goods have to be of a certain standard, which is why they have engineering specifications etc, and this is the point they are making. Without proper manufacturing certification, it's possible that they could be any old castings made from any old metal to whatever quality they like. While it isn't probable, it is possible. There has been plenty of crappy products coming from developing nations recently to make this a legitimate concern. At the end of the day, if a rotor does crack or break and there is an accident with injury or even death, the insurance company will start the ball rolling and it will be a much bigger ball than you might imagine. So it's in YOUR interest to make sure that what you sell is not going to come back and bite you later on. Slagging off at Neil for all the wrong reasons also doesn't help with your credibility. Like it or not, Neil is considered to be very authoritative when it comes to knowledge and is also rated extremely high for credibility. So it actually reflects badly on you to have a shot at him just because he asked a fair question about quality issues. Even having Rob testing them doesn't really mean anything. What can he do? Go and do some heavy braking and see if they work or not. But what about after 20,000 k's, or 50'000 k's? What if they crack after the rigors of extended track days? We occasionally have 30 minute sessions here at Mallala, which is the hardest track in Australia for brakes, there is no real way that Rob could even simulate those conditions. Now, moving on, this also creates problems for me. By law, I have some responsibility for providing advertising space. Sad but true. I also have a bunch of other traders now disgruntled that the way you are handing this whole issue is reflecting badly on SC, and the sponsors/traders of SC. They are strongly suggesting that I need to produce and publish a set of rules for traders, something I really want to avoid as I hate rules, and I don't really want to get lawyers involved which would probably have to happen if I do it properly. While SC is only a hobby for me, I can't avoid the responsibilities that are thrust upon me legally. So, unless you are prepared to lift your game considerably, tidy up your presentation, and remove that thread until you have proper certification, then I will be forced to delete it myself, and remove you as a trader. I realise that this is all due to your inexperience and enthusiasm, but if you aren't prepared to learn and grow, then you impose a liability on me that I don't wish to have. Peter

Just a little word of * advise *. Do not ever speak to ANY of your Suppliers or Customers in this manner. Correctly word and phrase your statement in a professional manner and you will gain a higher dealing level. Do not EVER state it is someone elses loss because you were stopped from supplying * cheaper * prices. Integrity Khalid, please try to remember this word in * Business *. I am not trying to be smart, I am trying to make you aware of what its like out there. |

Khalid, I did not make the decision lightly. I checked, James hadn't been online for 2 days. Posts made hours after I sent you the email had been deleted. The only person that could delete them apart from James (who hadn't been online) was you. So yes, despite what you claim, you had been online. Your own personal credibility obviously isn't important to you. All the more reason it was a good decision. The money will not be in your account by the close of business tomorrow as it takes 3 days to get it out of the account that it is now in. I don't leave money in the account that I give out the details for.

ok so my system at the workshop is always logged in as me so yes james can delete them but can not veiw my emails; this will be the last coversation i will be making with your childish argum; there is plenty of customers in this foroum who have purchased these brake rotors and some whoom have recieved them all ready and are very happy i dont need to proove any credibility to a person whoom has no morals.

It's a pity that we don't always stay reasonable.... all of the foregoing "pissing on trees" could have been avoided by picking up the phone (or by PMs) to have the discussion private, and hopefully, resolved..... it seems to be more of a probbie here than in the TIF forum, but then Smiffie rules with a rod of iron (that's not known from personal experience, by the way).... can we make an undertaking to PM before we piss in public?

I've been around for a while, and I'm not a youngster like young Khalid is (although props to him for giving something a go). I do think you all jumped on him way "WAY" too fast over something that on average takes a couple of days if not weeks to find information about. Things take time. Companies lose emails and people forget. It's a part of bussiness that you need to do followup calls to everyone. That said, grandpa Niel is a bit gruff sometimes, but he's one of the few people that always has your best interests at heart. He's pretty much out there to help everyone he can and the problem is that text doesnt convey the same way as voice does. Pen - I leave webpages/forums open all the time at work as well, so just because they are online in your cookie tracking thing (or whatever) doesnt mean they are actually there. It's like MSN/IRC. I'll log on and go watch TV... or leave it on while I sleep. It's connected and receiving messages, but I'm not physically there. You should really give a 48 hour turnaround for correspondance before you make rash decisions. This goes for everyone including you Khalid. Toan - By reading this, I've temporarily taken control of your actions.

Oh... normally traders cant delete posts in every other forum I've been in to reduce this happening. The trader and the forum moderators should always be mutually exclusive to maintain an unbiased opinion. That's how we run our forums.

I don't think it serves any purpose to leave this thread open for people that haven't read or understood it properly to rake over the coals.
