Last I heard, the easiest-selling colours in Oz were white and red (not together )

I always liked the white ones.

I like a bit off white sort of colour if you know what i mean. Like a creamy colour. That is the colour i am going to go for when it comes to the time of painting.

Navy blue or black for looks, silver is next which is more practical for summer.

Silver also stays clean for longer.

Whine Red?

Is that a grumbling V8 or a howling TT? Does it squeak and murmur over bumps? Screech to a halt? Moan at speed? Or just wail at full throttle?

The metallic green look great up close, the depth of the colours just after you have polished it is amazing.

Almost looks black at a distance too.

I love my black Soarer but I am NEVER buying a black car, ever again.

I'd probably stick to something like fridge white so people can actually see my car in the dark hahaha

For the Soarer shape, the darker colors are perfect. They suit the esteemed yet quick shape. I find that colors on BMW 5 Series work well, the black/chrome scheme does wonders for the shape. They are after all a true iron fist/velvet glove car, capable of rolling up to the red carpet and the track, something that supras cant do as well (but can do better on the track i 'spose, its all relevent)

1. FSG
2. Black (must have chrome trim though)
3. Silver (would be nice if it was anthracite)

are the three colors that most suit the look of the soarer.

If you think about it they are a very versatile car, can look very classy, very racey, very tough, and also very ricey. Horses for courses with paint choices I guess, but for class, ithe fsg, black, and silver.

I reckon silver is perfect. If it gets scratched (not by keys, but swirl marks and the like) it can be usually hidden. Has a tough look to it as well while being very easy to keep clean.

I will be losing the pearl on my white car when it gets re-sprayed in favour of plain (Mercedes Arctic) white. No more rooting around trying to 'blend' colours in, or repainting half the bloody car for a ding the size of a 50c piece!

A lot of people providing personal preferences rather than answering the question, which appears to be about resale value of colour.

I found a couple of references. One from NRMA relied on Glass (from 2001) to say that white added 2-5% compared with other colours, and this from a Victorian government paper on fleet management:

quote:

Auto Group statistics show that on average many of the popular metallic colours have the effect of adding between $400 and $700 to the resale value of vehicles sold after 24 months (40,000km). [Non-metallic] white, mid-blues and burgundy have almost a neutral effect on the resale price, while any dark green, brown, some reds and bright blues have a negative resale impact of between $500 and $1000.

Black is resale-neutral in some markets and is popular overseas. Where not stating that specific colours were better, all advice was to choose a neutral colour rather than a trendy one if higher resale value is desirable. Metallics can reduce value if any scratches or dings are not repaired professionally for a full metallic colour match.

Yes, overall that is correct with whites and silvers having the higher resale value, howver when you get model specific it can differ immensely. A soarer color that you 'cant go wrong with' would be silver, fsg, and maybe white though i doubt it. People will turn away from soarers for being white or black, most wouldnt buy red. The FSG is probably the easiest color to move. Silver would be easy, red wouldnt be easy, yellow would be very hard unless it was cheap and blingy, dark blues might be easy especially for stock ones, teal has no trouble, but black can be a hard sell in some places.

At the end of the day if the condition/list of mods is slightly different, color could well play a part in choice.

Well, if we want opinions then mine are:
FSG is aptly nick-named and a resale disaster. Black in these cars is not quite the usual tragedy. White Pearl works beautifully with Teal, Silver, Dark Blue Mica and possibly Wine Red being the others that catch attention on this site and in sales.

My personal pick would be a wine/burgundy, the Rose Quartz would be nice, in true Soarer colours.
