And as it's in Japan, it'll take 4-6 weeks til it's here, then at least a few weeks screwing around with customs/quarantine/compliance.. or spend the extra $4k for a car with nice rims and drive it away!

If you buy it for cash, then you would probably get if for 25k with the rims.
The photo is poor so it is hard to tell what the rims are really like but if it is in good condition is it worth 25k for a 97 V8 limited.
If it is not in good condition it is not worth more than 5k.
As Aaron as mentioned 99% of soarers in Australia for sale are and not worth a thing. I spent 8 months finding my near immaculate TT ( I looked at nearly every TT in victoria) and I paid a lot for it given what else is out there. I again have spent a fortune on replacing it when I purchased a rare Active in immaculate condition.
This car was one of the best condition cars let alone soarers I have ever seen. Drivers door trim was not cracked, steering wheel leather is perfect, a true non smoker car which doesn't smell like 99% of soarers in the country. I only found one genuine non smoker TT in 8 months of seeing more cars than I can remember.
My new car is a real gem I am over the world with it (my dad keeps borrowing it and is thinking about buying one too) but I had to pay for it. At the end of the day you get what you pay for it is that simple.

That car at Prestige Motor Sport is the first one I've seen with the fabled doilies. I'm not sure I can look at my car in the same way again. It's like coming home and finding your dad wearing a dress (I imagine).

My nan had them on her sofa when I was young but called them antimacassars. I think they were to keep hair oil off the upholstery. Obviously an over-abundance of hair oil on the leather is still enough of a problem in Japan to warrant these as a genuine Toyota accessory.
