So i've been toying with the idea of doing a gas conversion to my TT soarer. I've heard that if you get a well designed gas throttle body made up, the system can be much more efficient than the equivalent petrol engine.
I've also heard that you can run ridiculously high boost pressures as gas isn't very prone to knock and predetonation.
Does anyone know much about the topic? Any advantages/disadvantages to consider?
The government is giving out rebates on the conversion process, which is also a definate plus.
I'm not really interested in running dual fuel though. I am happy to commit to one type of fuel and then try to get the most out of it.

Rehan, if you want to do any travelling, dual-fuel is a must. If Sequential Gas Injection is fitted there is no compromise in tuning- it comes with its own dedicated ECU so tuning is optimised for both fuels. You can't do much with the space taken up by the petrol tank in any case, you'd most likely squeeze a reasonable LPG tank in there if mounting were possible, but a better option is a toroidal tank in the spare wheel well. I believe 78 litres is possible (not all usable as you can't completely fill an LPG tank).
I'll be looking into LPG for the Soarer if we move to WA as the subsidy totals $3000 there.

Gas can be good if its done properly. It has an octane rating equivalent to 105. So you can gain a slight increase in power if done right. bad side , have to pay the 3 grand and can be a pain when rego time and and wen it needs repairs

You would have to take it over the pits to get it complied as well. "Uh oh" if you get an over zealous engineer who looks at all your wanky stuff that doesnt have a permit... FMIC, single turbo, etc ;)
