There's like 10 Porsches made if not more for every Ferrari. Porsche is like the Commodore of exotic sports cars. The more cars out on the market, the more it looks like people are thrashing them, due to the proportion. Although yeah, you don't see too many Ferraris out on the race track, which is why they keep the value so well. You can buy a second hand porsche quite 'cheap' these days. Find a Ferrari for less than 100K... P.S. I do agree with you |

Met a guy at Phillip Island the other weekend who had a F355. Also had a soarer TT with some tinkering done to it. He said that while the 'fez had it round the corners, the soarer kicked its arse in nearly every other aspect, including off the line! Now I have driven one of these before, so the soarer must have had a bit done to it, but still, a Ferrari owner saying that the soarer is better,

All you really pay for when you buy a ferrari is style and the name, I hear a lot of people say they are poorly designed cars mechanically and most of them have shocking transmissions.

Ferrari, Soarer etc, all substitutes for small dicks; that's why I have a Soarer. (But I've got a good arse to push it).

But seriously, you kinda just validated my point about paying for the name and style. Apart from the interior and handling (which I know is good) all you really told me was how good the styling is.... and nothing else ??? I have been in a couple, my best mates dad has a 348 spider which for quite some time held the standard for Ferrari's power : weight ratio and yeah it was quick, looks hot (similar to a Tessa) and feels like its glued to the road but seriously man..... I couldnt justify the $238,000 he spent on it. Thats just my opinion. And dave, im 2 inches. From the ground.

So your legs are only 6 inches long then?!? When you buy a Ferrari, you get the 'mystique' that goes along with it. Sure they might have spartan interiors, but that's the price you pay for a street legal race car...

If you've got that sort of dosh in your back pocket with nothing else to do with it, why not? The guy must be loaded to also have a tweeked Soarer. Whatever turns you on. Now, if you won the lottery, what would you do? And also don't forget, it's not the size that counts, but the educated a**e behind it.

Very Naice ! I remember bill gates little bit of advice on how to upgrade your F-40 to an F-50. Went something along the lines of F-40 + $500,000 = F-50. Seems simple, yet so hard

I couldnt afford it, but justify it? In a heartbeat. If my pockets were substantially more equipped with the folding stuff...

A. You don't have to be a millionaire to buy a Ferrari, just look at older models in good nick or fixable easily. B. I've owned 4 and EVERY one of them spent hours and hours on the track (I lived nesxt door). I wouldn't own one and cotton-ball it like some do. They are for Driving C. I've had a Porsche or three too and they are nice but not in the same class. The first 911's were the best until recently.

Crap. Your looking at track oriented models not the road cars. Look at some of the innovations that were first seen on Ferrari's, power brakes, disc brakes, 4-link suspension, self levelling suspension, ground effects and now electronically controlled adjustable ground effects etc, etc. were all first seen on the road in Ferrari's. ZF transaxles and gearboxes are good enough for Porche, Audi, BMW, etc, etc, etc. Ferrari's use ZF transaxles and gearboxes too. The five speed 'box from the early 365 is the same as the 'box that was then in use in V8 Supercars. I-friggin'-dentical. And the diffs are the biggest version of the ZF locker. Brakes are Brembo or equivalent. Clutches tend to be weak but every system needs a fuse. The clutch is it. And a hell of a lot easier and cheaper than anything else to replace. |

Couple weeks ago at WSID there was an AC Cobra replica. SPorting a NIcely modded WIndsor V8 in it. Side pipes the LOT. The Guy ran a fastest of 12.5@113mph... His Mrs ran a 12.1 @ 114mph. She was faster than him. Main Reason? She redlined 3rd gear and hit the limiter about a Bees Dick past the 400m mark! The guy was shiftin 4th and losing time. I'm sure she taught him a thing or 2
