Well today I remembered the Night Drags where on so though well may as well take the soarer down to see what shes got. I didn't take anything out of the car, had the spare and about 20 liters of 95 octane petrol so it was weighing at over 1.6 tonnes at least.
I did two good runs which I predicted well. I estimated 15.2-15.5... The results where fairly close, on the first run I achieved, 15.44sec @ 91mph & the second a 15.47sec @ 90.9mph
Im very pleased with how the car went, couldn't be happier!
Now, the main problems I found were the tires (205s!) don't have enough grip at all so I cant get very good take offs, I can barely to 1500rpm and I got wheels spin easily, the track was kinda slippery though which doesn't help - 60' time on the first run of 2.398sec and 2.391 on the second! Pretty close damn times.
So next step after the full 5kms service shortly this month is, much wider wheels (rims) at least 235s on the back will be purchased, Headers back dual exhaust, finish the BFI top cover definitely within the next 1.5 months till the next drag day which is on the 16th of January! I also would consider a decent Shift kit, TT brakes and calipers (if funds allow) and run the car off 98 octane petrol only.
What a nice evening it was!
(Ill upload a video of the speedo during the run shortly)

Yeah Jeff, Im very pleased with how it performed especially since it was my first time on the 1/4 mile in any car where I got the 15.44 and 15.47 the second times

It was just a practice really - Id never been on the strip but at least I know what to do next time! I was just wanting to go on in street spec no changes to see what I could do
At least it ran a 15.4 which from what Ive read is the stock time for them on the strip!
Plus next time Ill have much wider wheels and the exhausts etc... & a Much better idea of how to go down the strip.

Absolutely, thats just the BFI however Don Speaking of the exhaust I unbolted the rear four mufflers the other day as a little test - boy its great to hear the guts of the 1uz! Looking forward to the dual exhaust after my service....
My main focus now is to do the service - Mainly a trans flush to get rid of all that Dexron III stuff for Toyota ATF and a oil/filter change with Shell Helix Ultra... 5kms is due since last service so looking to do in the next week or two. Once those are done, all the other bit will be looked at and replaced (Brake/coolant/fuel filter/air filter/spark plugs/lead test.... etc.....)
Bit of money required but hey - I want my Soarer to run at its best
