Susan, go into the ALSC Archive and do a search there. There should be a lot of info under 100K service, water pump & timing belt. I have some info on a the water pump and timing belt DIY job, and a half written procedure, but not sure that you'll be getting your hands dirty. I'll send it to you as encouragement anyway.

Thanks Graham and Michael.. i did a bit of a hunt around but must have only had a "boys" look LOL... anyways the old girl is now booked in this friday for the timing belt and water pump to be replaced and also an oil and filter change.. im supplying the oil and filter and its going to cost me $541.. I had the little beast force me to do the plugs this week by dropping a cylinder on me so thats done.. $137 later... but they are the good plugs that should last 100tho again... or close lol...The mechanic will check everything else for me and we are going to do up a plan of attack so i can save for the next important things.. Thanks alot people :D :D

Plugs lasting 100,000 km's... wish mine did that many k's between changes. did them 10'000 ago with irridiums and there in need of change.. well good luck with the service and hope they dont spring anything else major on you that needs doing.. (thats why i do all the work on my car myself, or atleast try to)

mmmmm resurrections well My Lady's car is close to this mark and if possible I would love to do this myself to save her a bit of dosh. Is it possible to grab that tute from you michael. You should get it chucked into the how to and tutorial thread. and if it isn't quite finished then when i am doing it i could finish it off for you. so is this a relatively easy back yard job or will i be biting off more than i can chew. Note i rebuilt the 18rGEU in my celica but this was out of the car and i didn't care so much if it broke so i don't mind geting my hands dirty but i would need to have it done in a day for her.
As an aside. I would be curious as to whether it would be more beneficial to simply swap an engine with 135000 odd k's on the clock with timing belt and water pump already changed on it or if i should do all this work to the current engine? There seems a fair bit required that's for sure.
Note: i am looking through the old forum's as we speak but i thought i would just get this started again for the new forums to update all the information.

alas Susan no longer has the file, looks like i will be diving in there to go from scratch. I will compile a list of what i think i need and we will see how we go. Should this thread be moved to the mechanical section for more coverage???

Damien, do a search on the old ALSC thread for 100K service, water pump, timing belt. I think you will find a lot of it already posted there. There were a few other people who i sent the info. You will see them on ALSC. Try contacting them as well.

HI guys, I'm about to do my waterpump and timing belt, and have bought all the parts i think i need from Penrith Toyota.
What I'm wondering is if there are any bearings which should also be replaced while doing the job? And plus my engine is quite squeaky of late and id love to get rid of that noise if possible.
So far the parts i have are:
Water pump...................1610049846 $114.00 Crankshaft seal..............9031146001 $27.10 Camshaft seal x2.............9031138041 $11.70 Thermostat...................9091603093 $17.00 Thermostat Gasket............1632562010 $8.00 Upper thermostat housing Gasket.......................1634388400 $2.70 Waterpump to thermostat housing O-rings x2...........................9676124023 $3.15 Coolant 4L...................$32.50 Timing Belt
Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated! ;)
