Jose, ring the company you are with and get a new quote. It should be about the same as last year, possibly less. My previous insurer would always increase my premium and/or decrease the value of the car when they sent me my renewal. I guess they make money this way because most people would be too lazy to check all the details.

GIO will not do soarers although they have a division called Custom Car Insurance who do (ph 1300 651 229). They seem to only want to do market value (1991 V8 Limited $13,100) and there premiums are INSANELY over priced. More than double Shannons or JustCars. They also have a $5000 (no this is not a typo) excess if a non listed driver crashes the car.

Just had a mate speak to a friend of his that owns a panel shop that works on Ferrari and SAAB. Seems he has no problems dealing with Unique Car Insurance, however JustCars is a different story.

I just spoke to GIO Custom Car Insurance, and they quoted me $1161 for the premium (I'm paying $1211 at the moment with Unique Cars), but the excess goes up to $1000 standard excess, plus a $500 age excess, plus a $400 theft of stereo excess(??). Never heard of that one before! At the moment, my excess is $750 standard, plus $450 age excess. And Adam was right about the unlisted driver excess of $5000. Plus they want proof of current insurance costs and policy, and proof of drivers. Unique Cars just wanted me to tell them how much I was quoted by Just Cars. No proof or anything, so I just told them $1500. They actually quoted me $2300, but Unique told me they could beat the $1500. Just hope they don't read this post!!
