Well, I was at an asian mall in my city the other day. I was on my way out when a shop with a number of model cars caught my eye. I have been keeping my eye open for a Soarer or SC400 (I'm in Canada so I thought it would be easier to find a Lexus model) model. One the last shelf I checked, at the bottom, there it was! It was a little pricey, but its not like I'd find another one. I had to buy it. So I did.
Its a resin kit, and all the pieces are very well detailed (lines in the headlights, everything on the underbody). I won't be assmebling it until my modelling skills are a bit better than they are now.

It was $40CDN. The store was a model/hobby shop at the Pacific mall (Markham, ON). Its definately not a chain. The kit itself is made by Fujimi. If you want one, you can try to find a local hobby shop who carries the brand to order one for you. The other option is ebay. Every now and again the 1/24 Aoshima Ridge/Vertex soarer resin kit comes up for around $26USD + shipping. Good luck finding one.

Man, things like this really let me know I am obsessed about my car. I have no experience building models, and yet I see a Soarer one and want it immediately. Or rather, want all three.
Coincidentally, I am getting some FSG paint mixed soon for Gregg Holden's custom eyelids! I better get to building!!

I was just gonna post picks of the same model Mike! I found mine in a lttle toy world, tucked in the back! $49au. I think from memory. The lady at counter thought I was nuts ( I was happy), The smile on my face was 10 miles wide as I explained and pointed out the front window to my baby parked across the road, gleaming in the afternoon sun! OHH !! came the reply!
Did you cut the sunroof out on yours, I did on mine. The mags make it look Awsome, did the same with mine too! Did you paint the body..
Any one seen the cast pre made models ( I think 1/24) avail on Ebay, they look cool, I have been thinking about getting one... Now they're hard to find!

Man I love model cars!
Sean, if you are getting some FSG paint for doing eyelids made up, just go to autobarn, they will mix on the spot for you and put it in a pressure pack for $22

Wow, they look pretty nice put together! Only thing I really don't like is the signal portion of the headlight is orange
Aaron: I live across the ocean in Canada, unfortunately no Autobarn for us. That price sure makes me wish I lived in AU, I have a feeling it's going to cost a fair bit more than that

I picked up a white Soarer off Ollie too, haven't assembled it yet, it sits on display (the box) by my PC. I bought some gold paint (Humbrol) in a pressure pack to paint it but my earlier use of the Humbrol paint on a spare centre dash register was disappointing so I've held off.
I have an airbrush but it went to store thanks to the removalist (the work houses here are furnished due to the high cost of freight) and would rather use that. My experience of modelling is extensive although mainly WWII aircraft. If I don't assemble the kit soon the pressure pack will have to be sneaked into our stuff as removalists don't like to pack paint. We leave Norfolk in a few months.

I love that picture Mike, it makes the model look 1:1, but not quite right if you know what I mean... if you didn't know it was a model, you'd be looking at it thinking "something is wrong with that picture..."

Ive got a 206 WRC car, red, a 97 STi Blue of course, a yellow ford Cossie, and my fave the Lancia Stratos, full white duco with the red and green Alitalia stickers. All of them a Tamiya models. I am trying to find an Integrale and an early Evo with teh winfield sponsorship.
Yes, I was addicted to Sega Rally 1 and 2 and set top times on EVERY machine I encountered! I must have spent over a $1000 on those two games.

Sorry, Completed model kits don't travel well (I move a lot)- especially when they have guns, aerials & masts sticking out. The JU88 is no more, sadly My much better (night-fighter) Heinkel 219 is also long gone.
