Hi folks, I had a long phone conversation with Mark Paddick yesterday, and he asked me to put a post up here saying that he is back around the place, but still trying to sort some things out in his life. He can not currently access this website to let you all know himself, but he asked me to let you know that if he has parts of yours and the matter is urgent, (ie, you are unable to drive your car, or you need to sell it in a hurry etc) could you give him a call on his regular phone numbers to have a quick chat to him about it. It seems that he still wants to be a part of the Soarer community, and is still willing to help, but at the moment he is so back-logged with jobs, and is still owed money by a number of people, that if he can't get someone in to help him, or get paid back what is owed to him, the jobs he has will probably take a few months or more to get through. I hope this helps those like myself who were a bit worried about the fate of their Soarer electricals! Cheers, Tim

I guess it comes down to the fact that if anyone owes Mark money then please pay it to help the guy get back on track! Maybe someone should find out who owes money to Mark and post up the names to shame them into paying their debts!

That isn't going to happen. Firstly because Mark is the only person that would know who and what is outstanding and his account was removed at his request, secondly there could be items in dispute. A Tim says also, Mark is way behind with the workload which also has some people wondering if/when they might get their units back. Best thing that I can think of right now, is if Mark can get some jobs done and then advise people the job is ready and will be shipped upon receipt of payment. While it is important for anyone that owes money to pay it, the forum isn't a court room.

How exactly is he not being paid? If he does work for someone why does he give their stuff back if he hasn't received payment!

I think its a case of doing the work and paying for the costs and then people not paying up.

If that is the case then Mark can advise (through me or anyone he pleases) what completed work he has available for return upon payment, and who owns the item. No slanders, no prevarication; just work done, and name who should pay to receive delivery of the properly completed work. Not wishing to put anyone on the spot but in principle this is not a difficult problem.

Let me say this,ok. It will be a long time before anyone see's anything. Marks head is not really on this planet at the moment ( Man I had fun with him today,,heheheh ) Once he can come down, all MAY get back to how you's once knew it. This is a good time to make a statement for you youngen's to take note. If you are a little edgy in the head Dept ( Brain rushin around like a tadpole in a puddle ) DON'T TAKE DRUGS TO FIX IT. Because it stops the Taddy from becoming a Frog and leaves it swimming in really thick MUD. Hopefully all will get better soon, ok. I will try to get him to organise whats what and assist in at least getting whoevers stuff back ( as he remembers ) Cause the more p1ss I can take outa him, the better it's gunna get. ( And me having fun at the same time ) But first things first, I gotta get him to have a haircut and a shave. Man he looks like a vagrant

From what I have read of Mark's replies, he was definately an asset to the Soarer community, and has done quite a bit to help this place out with his knowledge. I have never met, nor dealt with Mark, but here is hoping he returns and there are no sour grapes or issues, as his work can definately be an asset to us all. B.

Until Mark returns there are other alternatives for getting conversions and repairs done. I am one option, I do radio/TV conversions, CD stacker alignments, EMV repairs and dash repairs along with quite a few other things. I currently have 4 EMV's 4 CD stackers, 3 TV tuners and 2 radio units. If you need any of the above services you can contact me via PM. As for Mark, he was a top bloke and I hope he makes a full recovery. This is a terrible situation and a dam shame. I wish you all the best mate, I hope you don't mind me holding up the fort while you get back on your feet.

Mark is a great guy, he sents out stuff even before it is paid. He sent out a jaycar amp for me before i even paid him (which i did just in case you were wondering). It takes alot of trust to do that and shame on anyone who breaks that trust.

I bought things from Mark. He was fantastic to deal with. I hope he can get his sh!t together for his sake first, as well for people here. It would be a lonely and certainly a lot more mediocre place on this forum if Mark decided to live in Jamaica. Neil went on the road as a stand up comedian. Boss just locked himself up in the shed with his fleet, to be fed only bananas through the chimney. etc etc... I can name a few more experts who lend their vast knowledge for benefit of others. PS funny how all influential people drive V8s

| I could have done with Mark's assistance about now trying to get my damn car back up and running, but alas he's not around.... I know a little about mechanics and electronics and so-forth, and if I can help people out I will give it a go, but unlike a lot of "I know a little" people, I will say straight out if it's past my league. | Damn i was wondering where he had disappeared to...I was really enjoying his threads....I would have to say one of the best blokes on the forum. if i was ever in any forms of trouble, look up a thread and Marks name would be there. Never really got to meet him in person, but he did also help me out heaps in terms of publishing new threads and via PM's. Would have really loved to meet him though. And for those that have the face to get someone like Mark out of all people to do something, and take advantage of his generosity...let alone a smack in the head, I would send out a debt collector You just dont play with people when it comes to $$...it makes and breaks trust and friendship and ruins alot of families as well Shame on you people |

| Speaking of debt collectors. *Slightly off topic* I was sacked in november with $7000 in wages owing to me. Still haven't seen a dollar of it, BUT.... There is light at the end of the tunnel. Anybody with outstanding debts owed to them should go see the Sheriff's office and submit a small claim. It costs $70 - $90 to start off, and you get it back. The process goes as thus: Sheriff turns up at debtor's house, waits ALL day until he comes home. Neighbours all look and wonder what is going on. Mr debt comes home from work, sees sheriff there waiting, but goes inside his house. Sheriff sits in his car for 5 minutes, filling out paperwork, spends next 5 minutes snooping around Mr Debt's driveway, house, etc. Making notes.. Hehehhehe. Then the sheriff knocks on the door and hands Mr Debt a summons to appear in small claims court. Mr debt has 2 options: 1. go to court, get told to pay up, etc. or 2. Don't go to court, get ruled against and things happen without his input. Next up, the sheriff gives him a chance to pay, or make an arrangement. If he doesn't pay, then the sheriff gets a court order to start taking Mr Debt's posessions for auctioning off. Auctioning seems to be done at liquidation value, not purchase price value. Ie, $7000 debt could mean that Mr debt loses his computer $50, his guitar $20, His 2 ford Falcons $400, his tv $20... etc. Auction price value only. They keep taking stuff till the debt is covered, along with fees. Each step incurs a fee to Mr Debt. My $7000 will turn up one day, but it will cost my former boss approximately $15,000 in total because the sheriff charges fees, court fees, interest, etc and it ALL adds up quickly. The moral of the story, is if you owe someone money, the *RIGHT* thing to do is pay them, or make an arrangement to pay them. Things can get as ugly as the above, sometimes uglier.

It is true about the court Sheriff. Our local one is a chicky with a LARGE chip on her shoulder. Unfortunately they cannot seize any assets for auction if it encroaches on Mr Debts ability to make his/her living, or place him/her self into financial/emotional distress or hardship. Never mind the fact you are owed thousands of dollars and are feeding your family 2 minute noodles to for dinner. Its a wonderful system isn't it
