| Well there I was pootling home today in the middle of New Plymouth, when a Carters timber truck decided it LOVED the Soarer so much, and decided to give it a "Love tap"...........FAAARK!!. Oh well, crap happens I guess. I'll trot off to the panel beaters tomorrow & get a quotation to present to Carters.......POOS!

| Got the quote today, and as some of ewe's have said it's not a bad bingle. 620 clams for panel & paint + whatever for the black wheel arch moulding strip. Said strip NEW ex Japan: $203(NZD) + Grab Snatch n' Take. But I don't wanna NEW one coz it'll stick out like doggies danglies, so a 2nd.hand one is coming from Auckland at about 35 bucks or so Neil & Peter: Yeah I'm a tad slow at the mo........but nah, I wanna keep my 91 all stock original........that's why I've STILL got Lexus badges on the arse end . But never fear, I'll get off me fat chuff-chuff and get aroundtoit soon(ish!)

Already had a bad fright last month - didn't spot a guy on a Ninja and pulled out in front of him at a give way - he came off the bike but the bike slid to a stop before it got close to my Soarer. He was OK which was the important thing, and my insurance sorted out his bike. I felt so bad for him, and so pissed off at myself for not spotting him (he was partially obscured, but still no excuse!). I was amazed how easily he lost control of his bike at less than 50KM/h! In pretty much any car he would have been able to either stop, or drive around the nose of my car, but the bike rear wheel just locked up instantly and slid out from under him. Lucky for me I had no excess to pay, and didn't lose my no claims bonus, so I guess it could have been worse all around! |
