Got done speeding by a red light speed camera. Quite foolish really. Just trying to work out how much they going to slug me for the fine. Was doing approx 3kms over when i got the triple flash. Im on full licence with full points. not scared about points just keeping my licence. Anyone been done for similiar speed?

40+ over in SA and yo'll have to answer to a judge, I got busted doing 30 over and they still summoned me! Worked out well as I should have got the max on the spot fine ($430ish) but I just pled guilty in writing (no court fees then) and wrote a whole lot of bollocks in my letter, as advised by a friend in the court system. Only copped a $260 fine and 3 points, shoulda bought a lotto ticket hey?
To answer your question Joel, I highly doubt you'll lose your license if you have a full license, but it will cost you big!
Oh, and don't go changing insurance companies either for the next 5 years, coz they will ask you what infringements you have had in the last 5 years, and that will MAJORLY up the cost of a policy!

Policies are annual. It is in the fine print that you must advise them of anything which may affect insurance risk so there is actually no contractual difference between renewal and a new policy. Your current company may prove more tolerant but I would always check a variety of companies with full disclosure.

Take it to court, as long as the photo does not show the driver, you can use 500 years of common law. Criminal charge: burden of proof: reasonable doubt.
Where is the evidence of the person driving? Can they prove beyojnd all reasonable doubt that you were driving? Etc.. etc.. do a search, or see Michael Gleeson Associates.

30-45km over is definitely a loss of licence.
35-45kph over = 6 month suspension and god knows how many points lol.

who the •••• would speed through a red light?!!? MAURICE?
Maurice got pulled over the other day for going well over the limit thru a VERY orange light, then got let off with a warning The reason I got off, I didn't deny anything, I genuinenly WAS sorry and I have a perfect driving history, no speed fines or traffic offenses at all and I flexed my charm muscle.

There is no excuse for entering an intersection when the light is red. It's so dangerous that it should be immediate loss of licence for a year and the provision that you have to retake it.
3 points for running a red is a joke.
I was once in a cab where the only reason he didn't run a red was me telling him to stop. He then proceeded to thank me as it would have been the 4th time and he would have lost his licence.
I was very relieved when I got out of the cab. People like that shouldn't have a licence period.

Luckily in my instance it was VERY orange! My front wheels were JUST crossing the line as it went red, so I'm in the clear!

Did you get done for red light and speeding, or just speeding?
I believe the red light is still 3 points and $200. The speed will be 4 points, $265 and a month for 25-35. 35-45 would get you 6 points, $360 and 6 months.
