I would dismantle it first if I were you. Large chunks may clog the toilet.

quote:

Craig Dean from Sports and Luxury Cars is only too happy to explain the difference between a good ‘un and a bad ‘un...

“The first thing to look for on a Soarer is a RAWS plate - a purple colour tag in the engine bay,” says Craig.

“If the car has a RAWS plate it should be essentially okay - all of the cars that are ADR’d under the RAWS scheme meet a very high standard. But if the car has a green compliance plate which was issued under the old scheme, there’s a chance that the car has been damaged or involved in an accident.”

How about all of us with Green compliance plates ring Craig on 03 9753 5822 in the morning and ask him what we should do about it - maybe he can re-comply with a purple plate for a discounted fee?? :-)

Maybe he asked by mail and still waiting for the answer.

Mine is green as well, so the car I paid $77,000 for in '99 with 3 years warranty was probably crashed and put back together again.

He should have his head examined.

Mine was complied in 1998. If it was crashed they did a good job of fixing it. No tyre wear issues, steers good and I have had no problems, no rattles or sqeaks and servived a 3,000k trip with not a problem.
Maybe some bad ones out there but not everyone.

It does say "there’s a chance " in the article.

It's a good reason for always having your car inspected before purchase.

What a pointless statement - the RAWS scheme has only been in effect for 18 months or thereabouts and the costs are higher - of course the cars will cost more.

I feel the green plate looks better than the label. My UZZ32 under the new raws and my UZZ31 under the old system. I feel the label will only last so many years when a plate will last a life time.
