Hey guys...
May be a stupid question.....but as I dont do a lot of racing, I dont exactly know what it is.
I was racing a Skyline GTR (got quite a caning lol) but as we were going around a long bend at about 130....I put my foot down and it was like the engine revved up heaps but i wasnt going anywhere.....so i took my foot off and accelerated a bit less and it was fine.
I was wondering if that was a fuel surge?? I cant remember how much fuel i had in the tank.
Thanks guys, Chris

Yeh private track....lol......What is fuel surging like??
I'm pretty sure it wasnt the tranny...I've dealed with slipping trannies and it wasnt really like that...Plus I would have noticed if the wheels were spinning around a corner at 130 lol.

yeh possibly, but would it wheelspin along a sweeping corner?
It happens to me all the time, especially when i take a corner at a certain angle / speed =P Its simply because the wheels lose traction and spin faster thus the engine revs higher etc
If it over revvs / feels like its shifting poorly on a straight line then were talking about a different matter, liekly your transmission is wearing and having difficulty changing gears.

Could be fuel surge. Jeff Smith had some Bad surge issues in a straight line at the drags with less than 10 Litres in the tank. So a sweeping bend at 130 would have some laterall G's.
Enought to cause fuel surge in my opinion.

Surging doesn't cause the engine to rev up and the car not go anywhere.
Surging is usually more like the engine loses power for a second or two and then splutters a bit and goes again, Sometimes repeating this procedure a few times.
Does anyone even read the original question anymore on this site??

Thanks guys.....the tranny had just been serviced like a week before, and the fuel filter was also replaced.
I've decided it must have been wheel spin, lol. It was only for a second (as soon as it began revving I took my foot off and pushed it down a little less hard).
Still, its good to learn different things about your car such as fuel surging. Thanks
