Quote: "I just had to spend $689.10 to fix my Power Steering Pump yesterday! It doesnt matter what car you drive - happens to all of them."
Yeah, they all eventually need either a rebuild or replacement. But you dont expect to have a leaky o-ring on it at 42k (also, this is inherent problem with BA)

Brand new company cars going back all under warranty 3 times in the first 12 months is not unnormal for a holden or ford.
We have a lot of company cars and it is rare to have a holden or ford do 100,000km trouble free where as it is rare to have a toyota that will brake down. (Toyota van with 700,000km did a head gasket the other day when it over heated)
That may have been ok 30 years ago when a brand new holden would set you back 2k and to repair it cost a 100 bucks but it is not any more.
At the end of the day they should simply be a lot better than they are.

i have at least commodore a week come in to work with some sort of a power steering leak, ive even changed hoses on them with only 5,000 on the clock,ba's do have the same sort of problem but no where near as bad as holdens, cant beat a toyota by any means! and ive even told customers that after they have handed money over for fixing there bucket of s***......'should have bought a toyota'

This thread pwns!
Phil: I agree with you, I just like to be difficult!
Damien, when you said "Yep the XR6T is impressive but given it is nearly twice the displacement of a 1J and it is 15 years newer I would expect that it should be 3 times more powerful and just as reliable. " You are DEAD set right, I think that a 15yo+ 2.5L TT car that is even comparable to a brand new 4L turbo with a GT35 is a great achievement.
